Principal as Instructional Leader and PASL

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) and Pearson are closely collaborating on the development and administration of the new Texas Examinations of Educator Standards (TExES) Principal as Instructional Leader (268) examination. Under the current plan, the new TExES Principal as Instructional Leader (268) exam will become operational in summer 2019, and the current Principal (068) exam will be phased out with availability to first-time test takers through December 31, 2018, and to retesters through August 31, 2019. The new exam will contain both selected-response (SR) and constructed-response (CR) questions.

The exam framework for the Principal as Instructional Leader (268) exam is included in the preparation manual PDF. This framework guides the development of exam questions and is based on the Principal Standards adopted by the State Board for Educator Certification. Here are some of the differences:
